As far as I know, this isn’t the first album that’s ever been called Born Sinner, you know what I mean? I don’t even know if there’s any other album that it’s ever been called. That’s just the first album I’ve ever recorded that I put it on. Or whatever. It’s the first time I’ve ever had the thought, “I’m gonna call this Born Sinner.” I don’t know if the label wanted that or it was just something that just happened to be.
“The name – as you know it – has been around for some time,” Cole added. “That was my first album, but every so often when I make an album I have this feeling, and this time it felt like, ‘I might actually name this Born Sinner. I don’t know if anybody else is saying this or if this is some sort of label. I feel like it’s my first time that I’m like, ‘Ok. This is the first time I make this project. I’m gonna call this Born Sinner.’”
